I am not associated with any of these websites, and do not make any money from them. I only list them here as I find them very useful for anyone who wishes to study A Level mathematics. If you do find them yourself, please let them know that their hard work is worthwhile.

Books to buy
If you are looking to buy these books, look at second hand shops (ebay/amazon), also get a student card which will give you discount on books at certain book stores.
NOTE: None of these books are the best, the best book does not exist, if it did it would cost a lot and be thousands of pages long as it would include lots of different examples and lots of practise questions. So the best you can do is go for books which cover your exam board, have lots of examples, but most importantly lots of questions and solutions (great if there are worked solutions too).
Edexcel Livetexts - if you are not doing Edexcel, then you will probably not have access to these books at your school, but I believe they are one of the best books on the market, as they have worked solutions for every question which invaluable for self study.
Engineering mathematics - Stroud
CGP Textbooks
CGP revision guides
AQA further maths notes (FP2 | FP3 | FP4) - books provided by the exam boards
MEP text books - free text books, written for old exams, but very well written, and lots of questions. You will need to send an email to get the password to access the answers, but it is free.
Exam papers (AQA | EDEXCEL | MEI | OCR) - These are great as a collection of practice probelms, they have mark schemes (worked solutions) so you can see where you went right or wrong specifically. You can even have a go at exam papers which are not from your board.
Solomon Papers and questions - These are some of the best resources you can get, they are expensive and the company has gone out of business but they are still selling them. Ask your school about them as they may have access to them or they can buy them. These papers are more difficult then the exam boards, as they go beyond testing the basics.
Other resources to buy
Calculator (FX series) (£)- Great calculator, has solar power in case the battery dies so you dont have issues in case you calculator loses power in an exam.
Pencil, sharpener, rubber - All essentials in maths. Necessary for drawing plots of curves, or sketches. You might be more comfortable writing maths in pencil rather than in pen.
Pen - Need several of these, in different colours. Get a good pen that you are comfortable with. I am comfortable with a BIC clear biro, you may prefer something else. Always try out the pen. If you can write clearly, and for a few pages with out any issues then it should be fine. If expensive, do not let anyone borrow it!
Ruler - Essential for drawing graphs. You will rarely be doing any measuring or drawing accurate lines, so it will be used mainly for drawing straight lines, which you could get away with using your oyster card or student card. Aim to get a 30cm (1 foot) ruler.
Geogebra or Graph - Free software for your computer (or android device). Very good to help visualise curves, and help understand transformations and coordinate geometry.
